Sondos Shuaib is a Sudanese architect, designer, and artist, based in Milan. In 2022, she received the Education for Women’s Empowerment Fellowship Award from Politecnico di Milano. Her work in fiber art weaves tapestries that convey cultural narratives, drawing inspiration from the symbolic elegance of the Garmasis cloth. She explores abstraction and the amalgamation of colors and fibers to gain depth and meaning in art. Through her practice, she highlights the significance of textiles in preserving Sudanese cultural heritage while contributing to contemporary interdisciplinary art and design conversations.
